The TrikeBot

Someone asked about the fancy looking Trike Bot from our front age (and pictured below). We have plans for this design because it would make a really cool kit but it isn't quite ready yet. For those of you who just can't wait, we have put the design files on-line for you to download. These were created in Adobe Illustrator; you can get them below as the original Illustrator, a PDF and an SVG file.

A note of caution - There are no instructions and we offer no guarantee that you will be able to create a fully functioning bot with these files - it may take a bit of work and some figuring out ... but that’s half the fun of robot building.

The complete design requires cutting in two different plastics – we used Acrylic for the main structure and Polycarbonate for the covers and sprung suspension – The Acrylic is a nice easy material for laser cutting but the polycarb is a little messier, fortunately the polycarbonate parts are only 1mm thick which makes it a bit easier.
